I might know something about it too. It was posted on one of the forums as a google document link for a while but removed as it is copyright to Triumph and hence illegal. So there is no way I'd have a pdf copy, being a law abiding citizen and all.
Anyway, working in IT I'd not have a clue how to make it a pdf

Works fine here Al, might be a UK only site. however there is an alternative link in one of the other posts on the site, if I find it I will edit this mail.
Found it , its the service manual upload link by bender, in the same section as this one.

Bee's knees? The bomb? Dog's bollocks?

There are a million ways to say you guys are awesome, and I appreciate the help. Some of them, obviously, less clear than others.

Just an FYI (hi everyone, I just found this site--awesome!) I tried this link but it required me to create an account including pay $29.95 a month. I figured it's not bad for the manual so I charged it to my MasterCard. I then tried to download the manual but it seems it didn't create an account with FirstClass Download rather got me 30 days of using MediaCrawler which doesn't even have the Thunderbird manual listed. Not that it matters--every file I try to download gives me the error message "Requested file is temporarily unavailable." So, I think this is a scam site and I intend to dispute the transaction as soon as it posts to my account.

I uh... stumbled onto this link.

I think this site is alright, no scams and no fee. Give it a shot. Nice thing is this is the updated service manual with the hyperlinks in the main and sub sections.

Thanks Bender, makes life alot easier and cheaper having a w/s manual on hand!
Any one know the difference between the 1600 and the Storm? Obviously twin headlights, big bore and paint. I've heard the clutch is heavier also. Everything else that I've read in the manual for the 1600 seems to suit the storm.
Cheers

The clutch spring is heavier, yes, as it is with the standard bird with BB install. Other than that and what you listed it's exactly the same bike. (minus the odds and ends here and there... but nothing worth noting)
