Does anyone have one of these on their Bird? My right hand really gets stiff after 400 miles or so. It would be nice if Triumph offered cruise control on our bikes. Jeeez even the 800 Tigers have cruise control now.

Yes, I have the standard size. Works and looks good...reduces handlebar vibration too.

I have a homemade one. Originally I had a total of 25 cents in it. There were some washers (to take up the space) and a quarter (to give the screw something to seat against) inside the Kuryakin grip. A plastic knob was replaced by a $10 Stainless steel knob bought on Amazon.
The end of the grip was drilled and tapped to accept the screw. The knob came with the same thread (6MM).
The stack of washers and quarter sit at the end of the handlebar, and when the knob is tightened, it binds the grip against the stack and hence the handlebar.
It works as well as any throttle lock, but is not a cruise control. It will not adjust the speed to react to hills, etc. That said, they do offer some relief on longer rides.

The ride may be fun, but in the Great Scheme of things, it really is about the destination! John 3:16

I bought ,I think it's called the "CRAMP BUSTER" ,which just pushes on over the very end of the existing rubber throttle grip and ya use the palm of your hand just in front of your wrist to hold pressure on it so as to maintain speed and or accelerate. It's not a real cruise control as we know em,but works pretty good as I've used mine quite a bit.But the best part is,it only cost ten bucks, unlike what ya pay for a real cruise control unit which doesn't really work all the well,[the last two machines I owned had factory Cruise] and is interchangeable from bike to bike and only takes a couple seconds to do.So ya can take it off your old bike and put it on your new bike.So for ten bucks, and being interchangeable,ya can't go wrong!!

The Cramp Buster looks similar to Rich's cruise control shown above ,except there's really nothing to it and it's real easy to install and or remove!! Dave!!!

You can slip a rubber o-ring over the stock grip against the throttle housing. Good for long commutes, roll on the throttle it sticks, roll of the throttle. When you don't need it just take a flat blade screwdriver and slip it back on to the grip.

It aint ideal but it will get the job done.

You've got a free one in the parts bin in the garage somewhere.

O-Rings for me too. However, I find that it works good with the O-Ring rolled into the groove between the end of the grip and the weight. It's simple to roll the O-Ring in and out of the groove with one hand.

Cruise On

I understand that you asked a specific question ... not got one on the T/Bird but I had them on an ST1300. Beautifully engineered and designed to match the weight of the OEM bar ends. Worked well.

Thanks for the replies. $120-150 seems a little steep though. But it might be worth it to get rid of the vibration in the bars. I like the O ring idea too, especially since I'm broke after buying the Commander. How do you know I have one in my parts bin, Hornet? You been in my garage again?

I put one of these on my bike, I often have to ride long distances and so I need the convenience. I bought it by accident reading the article Link and found the link to purchase, I was happy with it, just what I needed.
